HS Candidate Logic

Static seed matching first

The HS Code Finder uses seed examples, keyword matching, material clues, usage terms, confidence labels, risk flags, and review questions. It returns candidate codes for review before filing.

Import Duty Formula

Manual rates, no hardcoded tariff claims

Total import cost is customs value plus base duty, additional tariff, tax or VAT, brokerage, handling, and other fees. Users enter rates manually after checking the relevant official tariff source.

Landed Cost Formula

Shipment cost basis

Landed cost includes product cost, freight, insurance, duty, tax, and import fees so sellers can estimate the cost basis for an international shipment.

DDP Quote Formula

Delivered-duty-paid preparation

DDP estimate equals factory goods, freight, insurance, duty, additional tariff, taxes, broker fees, delivery, and markup. It is quote preparation support only.

CSV Local Parsing

No catalog storage

CSV files are parsed locally in the browser. TariffCatalog does not upload, store, or write back product catalog files from the checker.

Static Pages

Static first, minimal dynamic endpoints

Astro pages are static and crawlable. Cloudflare Pages Functions handle waitlist and correction submissions. D1 stores only lightweight form records.
