Does duty drawback always refund 99%?
No. Up to 99% is a statutory ceiling for certain eligible duties, taxes, and fees under qualifying drawback provisions. The eligible base, path, records, timing, and transaction facts must be reviewed.
Can ecommerce returns qualify for drawback?
Some exported or destroyed returned, rejected, or unused merchandise scenarios may warrant review. A customer return by itself does not establish eligibility; connect the import, return, export or destruction, value, SKU, and claimant records.
Do I need the original import entry?
A formal review generally needs entry-level evidence showing what was imported and what duties, taxes, or fees were paid. Missing entry data is a major readiness gap.
Can different merchandise be substituted?
Some statutory paths allow substitution subject to detailed rules. Do not assume ordinary commercial similarity is enough; record the proposed relationship and obtain qualified review.
What if another company imported the goods?
Claim rights, certificates, assignments, and records can matter when importer, exporter, manufacturer, and claimant are different parties. The relationship must be documented rather than assumed.
Does this tool file a drawback claim?
